Hotline Miami is set to receive a major PC patch on Monday, September 9, bringing lots of gameplay fixes, tweaks, a windowed mode, and even leaderboards.

Hotline Miami amazed retro gaming fans last year when it appeared on the PC, delivering an ultra-violent top-down experience in which players controlled a guy who needed to take out a fierce mob in Miami.

The hardcore violence, the bloody gameplay, and the emphasis on skill attracted lots of fans and prompted the game to appear on other platforms like PS3 or PS Vita.

Now, while it's busy working on Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, developer Dennaton Games has revealed on Twitter that a major update was coming to the original game next week, on Monday, September 9.

The patch includes gameplay fixes, leaderboards, a windowed mode, and support for Linux.

More details will be revealed ahead of the update's release so expect to hear a few more things about its contents.
