The development team at Crytek is delivering the first image taken from the engine powering the coming Homefront 2 via a set of promotional materials, giving fans a glimpse at how the development process for the game is proceeding.

The image is described as work in progress and it seems that the studio is not yet interested in offering it directly to the public, according to VG247.

Homefront was acquired by the team at Crytek from THQ last year, when the publisher went under, and has not offered any clear info on it since then.

The sequel was first announced in 2011 and it seems that it will be launched at some point in 2015 on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

The original Homefront was a shooter that gave players a chance to battle North Korean troops that invaded the mainland of the United States.

It has only managed to sell around half a million copies.
