Blizzard Entertainment has released a teaser video showing Kael'thas Sunstrider in action, ahead of his inclusion in Heroes of the Storm.

The prince of the Blood Elves is facing off against Arthas, in his less agreeable, lord-of-the-undead days, firing off a barrage of fire-based spells against the ice-infused abilities of the Lich King.

For the time being, there's no information regarding Kael'thas' arsenal in Heroes of the Storm, so there's no saying whether or not the CG trailer is meant to offer us a preview of his in-game abilities.

Kael'thas could join the already extensive cast of heroes hailing from the Diablo, Starcraft and Warcraft franchises (with a special appearance from The Lost Vikings) as early as May 19, but we'll know more for sure on May 12, when Blizzard is hosting a Q&A session on Reddit.

Until then, we can watch the video below and remember the abysmal drop chance of Ashes of Al'ar, the item that would summon a glorious-looking phoenix as a flying mount in The Burning Crusade, World of Warcraft's first expansion.

The elusive item had a 2 percent drop chance, and that was at the end of a grueling battle with Kael'thas, where you had to take on adds and equip unique Legendary items that only worked during the encounter.

Hopefully, he'll be easier to fight in Heroes of the Storm.
