Blizzard confirms during its first day of the massive BlizzCon event that Heroes of the Storm, its already popular multiplayer online battle arena title, is getting a closed beta in January of 2015. Besides that, four new characters, including Jaina Proudmoore, are also confirmed.

Heroes of the Storm is the final incarnation of Blizzard's long awaited MOBA title, and from what players could enjoy in the current closed technical alpha, the experience is quite fun, offering some good twists on the mechanics of traditional titles like League of Legends or Dota 2.

As part of the BlizzCon event, Blizzard brought forth quite a few announcements in regard to the popular game, starting with a date for the Heroes of the Storm closed beta, which kicks off worldwide on January 13, 2015.

Until then, a special trailer showcasing four upcoming heroes was also revealed, which you can admire below, via the official website.

The footage confirms that Jaina Proudmoore, The Lost Vikings, Sylvanas, and Thrall are all set to appear in Heroes of the Storm in the near future. BlizzCon attendants are already able to try them out at the different demo booths, but unfortunately, it's unclear if they'll be released for the closed alpha in the future or they'll arrive alongside the beta next year.
