Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land will allow players to leave the ranch and explore new environments. They will be able to climb up rocky mountains and even hang out with penguins atop icebergs.

Players will be in charge of taking care of their farms, just like in the previous Harvest Moon titles, and will be able to create and customize characters to their liking.

The new trailer released by Marvelous AQL shows some of the new features in the upcoming Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land, such as new animals, monkeys, penguins and alpacas, that can only be found by adventuring to faraway lands.

Every year, the town will organize a safari event, during which special items and ore will be acquired.

Players will also be able to take dogs, cats, horses and more as pets, inside their homes, and take them for walks or play with them.

The game is coming to the Nintendo 3DS on February 27, in Japan, with publisher Marvelous AQL not stating yet when or if the game gets released in the West.
