We knew that Microsoft's Games with Gold program was finally going to reach the Xbox One platform in June, but the actual date still remained a mystery.

The Xbox One Games with Gold announcement on Major Nelson's blog has revealed the fated date to be June 3, at which point Xbox One owners with an active Games with Gold subscription could download Halo: Spartan Assault and Max: The Curse of Brotherhood for free.

The only caveat is that regular Games with Gold rules don't apply to Xbox One games, and that you have to maintain an active Gold subscription in order to keep the titles.

Both Halo: Spartan Assault and Max: The Curse of Brotherhood can be downloaded via the console or via Xbox.com.

In addition to this, Xbox One Deals with Gold brings more good news to adopters of Microsoft's latest console, in the form of discounts to a sizable discount of 33 percent on NBA 2K14 and slightly less impressive ones on Call of Duty: Ghosts and Call of Duty: Ghosts Digital Hardened Edition.

As announced by Microsoft, two more Games with Gold for the Xbox 360 will become available on June 16, Charlie Murder and Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition, in addition to Dark Souls, which is already available.
