A glitch in Halo 4's online mode has resulted in temporary bans for owners of the game who got the Crimson Map Pack DLC for the first-person shooter.

Halo 4 came out back in November and quickly attracted millions of Xbox 360 owners by delivering a top-notch single-player campaign as well as some impressive online modes, both with a competitive multiplayer and a cooperative Spartan Ops one.

After the release of the Crimson Map Pack last week, Halo 4 owners encountered a few problems downloading the DLC, especially those who were supposed to get it for free because they purchased the Season Pass or the Limited Edition.

Now, it seems that some Crimson map pack owners are getting banned from some portions of Halo 4's online mode, as many have started complaining on the Halo Waypoint forums about this situation.

A moderator made a statement saying that developer 343 Industries isn't responsible for the bans and that the team is working hard to uncover the source of the bans.

"We are not permanently banning players for previewing or purchasing the Crimson Map Pack. We are currently investigating the recent reports of permanent matchmaking bans. We will provide further updates tomorrow. Thank you for your patience."

As of yet, no other details are known about this issue.
