The team at 343 Industries offering support for Halo 4 announces that it is preparing to launch a special playlist for the multiplayer side of the game during the coming weekend in order to honor the XLVIII edition of the Super Bowl, which will be disputed by the Broncos and the Seahawks.

The studio explains that the new mode will include “touchdowns only Ricochet on a custom football field, designed by the Grifball guru and Forge expert Nokyard.”

The virtual football field is improved over the one offered during Thanksgiving and the team colors are updated to reflect the rivalry between Denver and Seattle.

Gamers will be able to play Spartan Bowl starting on Friday, January 31 until Sunday, February 2.

Players need to download the Forge Island map in order to enjoy the new Super Bowl themed mode.

Rumors suggest that a new Halo title might be launched as early as this year on the Xbox One.
