Guillermo del Toro's Insane project has apparently been picked up by a mysterious studio, according to a new report, meaning that the horror game envisioned by the popular movie director might finally be released in the future.

Insane was initially revealed by THQ and Guillermo del Toro a few years ago, promising to deliver a unique horror experience and was in development at Saints Row studio Volition.

Due to THQ's financial problems, the publisher was forced to sell the rights to the project back to del Toro, who then said that he was going to look for new developers on his own.

Now, website Bloody Disgusting reports that del Toro's search is over as he found a new studio interested in Insane and has already begun working on it.

As of yet, however, the identity of this new developer is unknown.
