ArenaNet has previously revealed its plans to remove glory as a currency from its massively multiplayer role-playing game Guild Wars 2, but an exact date for the change to take effect was not offered.

The latest post in the Guild Wars 2 news feed has arrived with the advance warning, informing players that glory will be retired starting March 18.

The post also mentions that all existing random reward chests for Player vs. Player will also be removed, and the bonus rank points awarded in the chests will become part of the match reward instead.

Players will be able to spend their existing glory via the glory vendor introduced on December 10, which will persist in-game until the new reward system is released in a later update.

The announcement also offers some details regarding the upcoming Mistpedia Invitational, signups for which are now open for both Europe and North America.
