A new batch of screenshots from Double Fine Production's Grim Fandango Remastered have reached the surface of the Internet, letting us know how the game looks in its spruced-up edition.

The game is a remake of the 1998 Lucas Arts classic adventure title and is coming to Windows PC, Mac OS X, Linux, and the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita gaming systems from Sony, tomorrow, January 27, worldwide.

It could be argued that the effort is slightly lazy for a remaster of what's considered one of the greatest adventure video games ever made and its cult following status, but it's still a much better way to enjoy the game today, in a more modern incarnation, with a lot of the issues of old addressed.

Many gamers have complained over the years that the game is a bit janky compared to modern standards and that there are many difficulties they have encountered when trying to make it work on newer hardware.

Grim Fandango Remastered keeps all of the original's charm intact, while introducing a whole new generation of gamers to Tim Schafer's mastepriece. The art direction and brilliant dialogue that captured so many minds and made the original game so beloved back in the day are still there, and the screenshots are really promising.

Double Fine's hit Kickstarter adventure video game, Broken Age, will gets its second act sometime this spring, alongside the physical retail release of the entire package. Broken Age: Act 1, the first graphic adventure from Tim Schafer after a sixteen-year hiatus, received very positive reviews when it came out one year ago, and now fans are eagerly waiting for its conclusion.
