Nvidia has issued a clarification concerning the recent statements of one of its executives, confirming that it has no knowledge about Grand Theft Auto 5 coming to the PC.

PC gamers were delighted to hear a confirmation of GTA V coming to their platform yesterday, when an Nvidia executive made a statement, highlighting the game alongside other confirmed PC titles like Call of Duty: Ghosts or Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag.

The company has since made a rectification, revealing that the statement was referring to big games overall, not ones that will appear for the PC specifically.

"This statement was made with the intent of expressing enthusiasm for the games industry in general, and was not intended to represent specific knowledge possessed by Nvidia. Nvidia does not have information on any possible PC version release of Grand Theft Auto or its availability. We deeply regret the error," an Nvidia spokesperson told Eurogamer.

As such, GTA fans on the PC will have to keep on waiting for a new version of the game, which will join the upcoming PS3 and Xbox 360 editions.
