Rockstar Games confirms that the pre-load for Grand Theft Auto 5 on the PC is officially open, meaning that those who pre-purchased the game via Steam or Rockstar Warehouse can start downloading the necessary files.

GTA 5 launches next week on PC, and given that its final install size is around 65GB, according to the official requirements, Rockstar wants to give fans enough time to download all the necessary files.

As such, the pre-load has officially been opened for PC users who've already pre-purchased the game via the Steam service or the Rockstar Warehouse.

According to the support page, Steam users can already hit the Pre-Load button from the client and begin downloading the game onto their hard drive.

Meanwhile, Warehouse users will have to check their email addresses and follow the activation and download instructions. While the messages may say that their pre-ordered product is available, it only means that the pre-load is ready, not the actual game.

Those who purchased the title from other retailers should await instructions from the actual store with an activation code and other important details.

Grand Theft Auto 5 for PC launches on PC on April 14 worldwide. Exact dates for when the game is going to be available should appear until then.
