The team working on God of War: Ascension is releasing a new developer diary for the Kratos-powered adventure, focusing on the character Empusa and her mythological roots.

In the Greek Pantheon, the creature was a daughter of Hecate; she then turned into a monster, and players will have to get innovative in order to defeat her.

The description from the development team at Sony Santa Monica reads, “Sadistic, twisted, pure evil incarnate, an enemy in Ascension that will torment and abuse you with her curvaceous, razor sharp spikes. Sounds just like everyone's God of War fantasy.”

The new game allows gamers to experience the adventures that Kratos went through between the first two titles in the series.

Those who pre-order God of War: Ascension will get access to Mythological Heroes Pack when the game is launched on March 12.
