Stig Asmussen has revealed that he now works at Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment, in the wake of his departure from SCE Santa Monica.

Asmussen was laid off from Sony Computer Entertainment's Santa Monica studio following the cancellation of the dev's science fiction project, which resulted in several other members being let go as well.

Fortunately for the God of War 3 director, he was quick to find a new home at Respawn Entertainment, as confirmed by the company's co-founder, Vince Zampella.

Stig Asmussen is reportedly working as game director, but not for Titanfall, which could be indicative of the fact that Respawn has already set their sights on a new game, presumably featuring Titans wielding chain whips and quick time event fights against even bigger robots.

In any case, Titanfall 2 is rumored to currently be in early talks, with the targeted platforms also extending to Sony's next-gen computer entertainment system, the PlayStation 4.

The God of War franchise has been quiet for a while, with some unconfirmed but uncorroborated rumors of a God of War: Ascension remake that's heading for the PlayStation 4 in circulation.

This year's edition of the E3 gaming expo did not deliver any God of War-related announcements as well, which was unexpected, considering that there were some teases prior to the trade show, but we'll come back with news as soon as Sony reveals anything.
