Video game developer Epic Games has announced that it is releasing a new title update for its third-person shooter Gears of War 3, with players invited to connect to the Xbox Live service in order to automatically get the changes and fixes.

The patch is designed with the multiplayer component of the hit game in mind and one of the biggest changes is to allow spectators to start viewing a match from a player point of view rather than simply getting access to a battle camera.

There are also other improvements, including an X in the crosshairs of some weapons, showing the player that their shot and view is obstructed.

Epic Games is also delivering a number of bug fixes, also multiplayer-oriented, designed to make it easier for players to get through multiple games and eliminating the “Waiting for Players” message bug that appeared when the host players quite a game during the progression screen.
