Nanea Reeves, who is a chief product officer working at Gaikai, has told IndustryGamers at the CES 2012 event that, “Not all of the current console makers will have one more generation. That will be the big news at E3.”

We already know that Nintendo is planning to launch the Wii U home console at some point during 2012, with full details on the hardware and the video game line-up set for a full reveal at the E3 2012 trade show during June.

There are rumors about the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox 720 from Microsoft but neither of the two companies have officially confirmed working on follow-ups for their current systems.

Rumors about the Microsoft device talk about full integration with a next generation Kinect and about full support for a Metro interface while the new PlayStation might have more support for 3D while also upgrading the graphics quality.
