Video game developer Rockstar announces that it is delivering two new wallpapers based on original artwork for fans of Grand Theft Auto V, including a new look at main characters Michael, Trevor and Franklin, in order to help players pass the time before the title launches on current-gen consoles and on the PC.

The official announcement adds that gamers can also get "a mother lode of previously unreleased illustrations including a few of the oddballs of Los Santos and Blaine County that appeared in the latest trailer like Maude and Dr. Friedlander – plus a wide range of GTA Online artwork from the past few months as well."

At the moment, Rockstar and Take Two are planning to launch GTA V on the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One on November 18 of this year, while gamers who want the PC version of the title will have to wait until January 27 of next year.

The coming version of the open world title will have upgraded visuals and some new content, although the studio has no plans to introduce any major changes to the core mechanics.

The GTA Online mode will be included in all releases although it's not clear if the experience will offer a cross-platform world.
