The team behind digital distribution service GOG announces that it is launching a massive sale for a number of the titles included in its catalog in order to celebrate that the entire concept has been live and successful for a six-year period.

Gamers can go to the main page of the site to take a look at the titles that are on sale, most of them based on classic properties and all offered without any sort of Digital Right Management solutions.

The company says that, during the six-day promotion, the following games will have deep discounts: Deus Ex GOTY Edition, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, Hotline Miami, Banished, and The Witcher 1 and The Witcher 2.

The end of the promotion will take place on September 16 at 9:59 Greenwich Mean Time.

Recently, the entire GOG site received a makeover designed to make it easier to find games and to handle collections, and gamers can also get access to a number of DRM free movies, most of them linked to the gaming industry in one way or another.

The PC digital distribution ecosystem is currently dominated by Steam, but a number of niche services are also present and offer a range of advantages, from no DRM to the ability to trade in some titles.
