Fuse, the character creator from Mixamo, has just been updated with a lot of new stuff, the most notable of which being the new Asset Import feature.

The developers stated their goal to be opening up a space where community members can swap, sell or simply give away their own custom content. The newly implemented tool would allow them to add custom gear or characters to the Fuse database, so every creative individual can freely mix and match them to their liking.

Mixamo has even published a handy import guide, showing users of their character creation tool Fuse how to import their custom content into a database via the Import submenu.

But the update did not simply add the new feature, it also greatly improved some of the existing ones, adding enhanced character quality, memory optimization and 2 free rigs per week, as well as an important part of the anatomy of female character models, one that often gets lost in translation during the character design process, even when the heroines are wearing naught but skimpy plate mail armor.

In addition, the new v1.0 patch added improved character topology, new clothing, save substance defaults for clothing, dynamic textured thumbnails and global preferences menu for exports.

The team listed adjustable facial features and higher quality TF2 characters to be on their to-do list for the next update.

To celebrate the new update, the Fuse Complete Package is offered at 50 percent off on Steam, going for $50 / €47.
