Xbox 360 owners with active Xbox Live Gold subscriptions can now download for free Battleblock Theater for their platform, as part of the Games with Gold program.

Microsoft impressed quite a few Xbox 360 owners last year when it rolled out Games with Gold, a special promotion through which Gold subscribers were able to download two free games each month and play them forever, no matter if the Gold membership expired.

Last month, the program finally appeared on the Xbox One platform, although here an extra restriction was added, as Gold members needed to continue paying their subscription if they wanted to keep playing a free title.

Now, Xbox 360 owners can download for free Battleblock Theater for their platform via Xbox Live, as the delightful game from indie studio The Behemoth is available until the end of the month under the Games with Gold program.

Xbox One owners are still able to download their two free titles this month, Max: The Curse of Brotherhood and Guacamelee: Super Turbo Championship Edition, until July 31.

New free games for both Xbox 360 and Xbox One are set to be introduced on August 1 by Microsoft, so expect to hear about them right before the start of the new month.
