The upcoming Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 football simulation will use the new Fox Engine from Kojima Productions in order to add more realism to the matches.

Naoya Hatsumi, who is a senior producer working on Pro Evolution Soccer 2013, has stated during an event in Brazil that, “What we are trying to do is we are going to win back the crown when it comes to the next generation. That’s what we want to do, and to do this we need to have a new engine. That’s what we think.”

He added, “We have to use a new engine. Have you heard of the Fox Engine? We are working very closely with them.”

The Fox Engine was revealed during E3 2011 and it has been confirmed as being used for a presumed sequel to Zone of the Enders and for the Project Ogre title that Hideo Kojima is personally working on.

PES 2013 will compete directly with FIFA 13 from EA Sports.
