FortressCraft Evolved, the successor to the console hit of 2011, is now available on Steam Early Access, announced publisher Digital Tribe.

Initially released on Xbox 360 back in 2011, the game quickly became a best-seller on the platform. In less than six months, the title has sold over 500K copies and has been rated as the number one Indie Game for weeks on end upon its launch.

The new version, dubbed FortressCraft Evolved, has been completely reworked in the Unity engine in order to offer a more robust world-building experience.

Added features have been listed as multiplayer mode, controller support and complete Steam Workshop integration.

FortressCraft Evolved is featured on Steam Early Access for just $6 / €4.5 during its alpha stage, and the price set to gradually rise as the game reaches beta and then completion.

Getting in early also offers a chance to send the developers feedback that may end up shaping the final product.

Developers stated Mac and Linux versions of the alpha would become available at a later date.
