Interested in what Rob Pardo, one of Blizzard Entertainment's prime designers, has to say about various things like Dungeons & Dragons and about creating worlds for players to spend their time in?

That's great, because the first episode of Designer Notes, a new podcast from Idle Thumbs, hosted by Soren Johnson of Mohawk Games delivers just that.

In this first episode of the two part series, Johnson sits down with Rob Pardo, who was chief creative officer at Blizzard until earlier this year, discussing his long and fruitful career as a game designer.

During his many years at Blizzard, Rob Pardo worked on StarCraft 1, StarCraft 2, Diablo 2, Diablo 3, WarCraft 3 and World of Warcraft, which makes his pretty much a dream job for many aspiring creatives and fans.

Pardo left Blizzard earlier this year in March in order to pursue "the next chapter" in his life and career, and after having his hands in Blizzards' most popular pots, his next creation will surely be something of note.

During the podcast, Pardo and Johnson discuss a lot of stuff, from arcade games to the Ultima series and the many games that the former Blizzard designer worked on, sharing their views on what makes some games greater than others.
