Square Enix has announced that land pricing will drop severely in some worlds of their massively multiplayer online role-playing game Final Fantasy XIV, with further plans to re-evaluate the final price of land across all worlds some time during January.

The decision was made following the considerable inflation that occurred on certain Final Fantasy XIV worlds, where both new players and those returning after a hiatus found that housing was entirely out of their reach.

In an effort to balance this issue, Square Enix has stated that it will reduce pricing dramatically across numerous servers, the official Final Fantasy XIV housing price adjustments announcement going into more detail regarding the particularities of the decision.

Land pricing for legacy worlds will be adjusted to match the prices of non-legacy ones, this resulting in a considerable drop, with some prices dropping by a factor of five over the next few weeks.
