Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn just launched on the PlayStation 4, and developer Square Enix has released a brand new launch trailer to remind gamers that the next-gen console action is starting in the world of Eorzea.

The fantasy massively multiplayer online role-playing game certainly got off to a rocky start, but Square Enix managed to make the right decisions and repair it, transforming it into a title that became a contender for game of the year in its genre.

The game has been engrossing PC and PlayStation 3 players in its wealth of content for quite some time, and now owners of Sony's next-gen console can also join in the fun.

The launch trailer is not nearly as dramatic as one might expect from Square Enix, being content to only show some superb in-game footage featuring a couple of the game's beasts, including a fight with a gargantuan sea serpent.

It appears that you hardly need more than to flaunt some glossy visuals these days in order to get people's attention, but the game features much more than just that.

Also, if you're thinking about switching your version of the client to the next-gen one, here's how to upgrade Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn from PS3 to PS4.
