Square Enix is working on a new Nintendo 3DS exclusive role-playing game titled Final Fantasy Explorers.

The news has been revealed by this week's issue of Japanese video game magazine Jump, as reported by Siliconera. The upcoming game is an action role-playing title where players have to search for crystals while battling various Summons that they find along the way.

Final Fantasy Explorers will allow players to choose from multiple Jobs, each one with their own role in the game. For now, only the Black Mage, White Mage, Knight and Monk Jobs have been revealed, but the Japanese magazine claims that many other Jobs from across the entire Final Fantasy series will be present in the upcoming 3DS title.

Parties will consist of one to four players, and gamers will have to make good use of each Job in order to be able to take down their enemies. The magazine has revealed that Black Mages attack using magical spells and specialize in long-range attacks, while White Mages are adept at recovery spells.

The Knight will serve the role of shield, protecting the entire party from harm, and the Monk Job is the embodiment of physical prowess, a deadly close-range warrior.

The campaign's main goal is to defeat different generations of Summons, and the game will have a large variety of weapons to choose from with which to get the job done.

Final Fantasy Explorers does not yet have a prospective release date announced, but we'll get back to you as soon as we hear anything.
