Social network Facebook wants to become a better home for video games during 2013, which means attracting more ambitious titles like ChronoBlade and adding more titles that use traditional mechanics and features.

Sean Ryan, the leader of the game partnerships division at Facebook, is quoted by VG247 as saying, “It doesn’t mean we’re walking away from other games, but there’s no question our focus for 2013 much of it will be about becoming a better platform for core gamers and developers who make those games.”

The executive says that more than a quarter of the billion people who use Facebook are also playing games on the network.

Zynga, the creator of the biggest titles on Facebook, has recently hit a rough patch and lost a number of high-profile developers while also seeing share value drop as new releases failed to find the same audience as older games.
