Gamer can enjoy the new Kick Off experience while they wait

The team at EA Sports in charge of the FIFA 14 football simulation has deployed an official update for the game on both the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft, which seems to deliver all the actual content linked to the new World Cup-themed Ultimate Team and Kick-Off modes.

The update has different sizes on the two platforms but the download is pretty quick, with most users reporting that they managed to get it in under 10 minutes.

Unfortunately the Ultimate Team World Cup section cannot be accessed at the moment on either the PS4 or the Xbox One, which will be a disappointment to long-term fans of the title.

Kick Off is available, which means that gamers have something to fill the hours with until the more attractive mode is launched.

EA Sports was supposed to deliver the new modes yesterday, on May 29, but discovered some important problems late in the testing process and decided to postpone launch rather than deliver a buggy experience to the community.

The company has suggested that the content linked to the World Cup in Ultimate Team for FIFA 14 will be activated later in the day, with 7 PM GMT currently being the most likely moment.

UPDATE: The patch is also live on the PC, the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, but the game mode is not yet active.
