The development team at EA Sports working on FIFA 13 announces that it is taking down the Ultimate Team mode for FIFA 13 starting at 1 AM Pacific Time or 10 AM Central European Time.

The period of downtime is expected to take 7 full hours and both the multiplayer mode, the web-based app, the EA Football Club and the mobile app will be unavailable for players.

The team says, “The purpose of this maintenance period is to increase and improve our online infrastructure in preparation for FIFA 14. Over the next few weeks, we will have a couple similar maintenance windows which will be announced closer to the dates.”

EA Sports will announce the community if the period is extended.

FIFA 14 will be launched on the PC and current-gen consoles on September 24 in the US and three days later in Europe.

The game will also get versions on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
