Video game publisher Electronic Arts announces that it has managed to sell 14.5 million units of its FIFA 13 football simulation since it was launched in late September.

This represents an increase of 30 percent when compared to the numbers posted by the previous entry in the series.

The fiscal year ended on March 31 for EA and the company says that it has managed to generate more than 200 million dollars (146 million Euro), mainly linked to the Ultimate Team multiplayer mode.

FIFA 13 has managed to move 2.5 million units during the January-March period, which is traditionally one characterized by smaller sales.

At the moment, EA Sports is working on FIFA 14, a new title in the series, which will be delivered in fall this year.

It will include new features like Pure Shot, Protect the Ball, and Intelligent Teammates.
