The pixelated indie arena platformer aims to offer an alternative look into how exorcism really works

New York-based independent developer Golden Ruby Games, together with Ripstone Publishing, is looking to bring the arena platformer Extreme Exorcism to gamers all around the world, sometime in 2015.

Extreme Exorcism enables you to step into the shoes of extreme exorcist (what else?) Mae Barrons, a deadly and skillful adventurer who uses her supernatural skills in unconventional ways in order to rid the world of evils.

Instead of packing the usual arsenal of holy water, a cross and a Bible, and reciting various verses in a shaky voice, she employs a vast variety of swords, guns and kung fu moves, for the purposes of doing away with the pesky ghosts.

But every time a ghost is eliminated, another one pops in its place, growing even stronger, making Mae's Sisyphean task more challenging the longer you survive in the haunted house.

The title will ship with a story mode, available for both solo and coop play, covering the ten separate areas of the haunted mansion, ending in a testing boss fight, as well as a local multiplayer mode enabling up to four different players to try their hand at endless ghost annihilation.

In addition to this, Extreme Exorcism will also enable gamers to test their skill in a deathmatch mode where you can customize how ghosts spawn and what abilities they possess.

Extreme Exorcism will be available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC platforms.
