Riot Games confirms that it's going to offer a bonus amount of extra Riot Points to League of Legends players who buy and redeem different amounts of RP in January 2015, but won't offer any refunds to those who have already done that during the winter holidays.

League of Legends is one of the most popular multiplayer online battle arena titles out there, offering fans a lot of different champions to choose from, not to mention various abilities for players to use, skins for their favorite characters to wear, and other such things.

However, most of these things cost RP (Riot Points), which in turn cost real-life money. As such, many players buy cards or set amounts of RP so that they can spend them in the game.

After the winter holidays and after a period in which many players have redeemed their codes, Riot announces that it's going to be offering even more bonus RP amounts during the month of January.

More specifically, buying or redeeming RP between January 12 and January 18 will net players a double bonus RP amount, instead of the regular one for payments above 10 USD or 5 EUR.

What's more, according to the official website, because due notice was given, Riot won't be offering refunds on RP purchases made prior to the actual announcement or the promotion. As such, don't expect the studio to give you back your money in case you got Riot Points in the last few weeks.
