A new development studio called Precursor Games announces that it is currently working on a new video game called Shadow of the Eternals, which is set to be a spiritual successor to the cult classic Eternal Darkness.

The game has a trailer on IGN, which does not offer too much information on either plot or the core gameplay mechanics.

The team says that it will launch a full Kickstarter crowd funding effort on Monday, May 6.

Eternal Darkness was created by Silicon Knights and was published by Nintendo on the GameCube.

It's unclear what platforms the spiritual successor will target.

Apparently Precursor Games is made up of some of the original members of the development team and Dennis Dyack will be involved in some capacity.

A true sequel was in development before Silicon Knights was affected by financial problems.
