The upcoming Enhanced Edition for Baldur’s Gate will offer players complete cross-platform play support, allowing all versions to connect to each other for multiplayer sessions.

Trent Oster, who is the leader of Beamdog, stated, “iPad can play with Android, Mac and PC. One happy gaming family.”

The Enhanced Edition of Baldur’s Gate will include new characters that the gamer can recruit to his own party and new quests, including a lengthy series of fights that will take the party out of the Underworld.

The PC, Mac and iOS versions of Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition will be launched on September 18 and an Android version of the game will also be out during the fall.

If the re-release is successful, the teams at Overhaul Games and Beamdog will move on to other titles based on the Infinity Engine, and they will also talk about potentially creating a full-fledged Baldur’s Gate 3.
