Playing Galactic Civilizations III and Game of Thrones

Galactic Civilizations III continues to be the title that will capture most of my free time during the weekend, mainly because I am hoping to finally finish on a match on the Insane setting for galaxy size.

Stardock has managed to deliver a turn-based experience which runs very well on my machine but the amount of stars and the fact that I have crammed as many small races as possible in the campaign means that at some point the turn times become a little ridiculous.

This can be a good thing because I need a lot of time to think about the way I want to manage my empire, something that can take a few minutes given its current size and the amount of threats it has to deal with.

But I suspect that I will never be able to actually completed such a Galactic Civilizations III campaign because the risks and rewards linked to each move are too high and I have a tendency to want to reload or to otherwise play extremely conservatively.

I am also playing a bit of Game of Thrones Ascent on the side, once again engaged in the Alliance versus Alliance combat and trying to get some solid rewards from the most recent Tales story.
