Playing Homeworld and Europa Universalis IV

This is turning out to be a solid week for strategy lovers and I am in a position where I actively have to select among video games to play during the coming two days, which is never something I like to do.

I have already spent time with the Homeworld Remastered Collection this week, even streaming a bit of it, so I plan to dedicate most of my efforts to the El Dorado expansion for Europa Universalis IV.

The new content is designed to introduce major changes to exploration and to South America as an area, and I plan to try and take control of one of the nations using the new religions, which feature a new Doomsday counter and a relatively complex way of trying to reach the same level as Western nations.

And Total War: Attila is still looming large in the background, the kind of video game experience that can easily eat 100 hours of playtime over the course of a few months.

The surprising thing about The Creative Assembly-made title is how hard it can be to deliver solid results with any of the included factions, as even playing the Huns tends to be complicated for a gamer who makes the wrong choices.
