Playing Pillars of Eternity and card games

I am now in the tight grip of Pillars of Eternity, the new role-playing title from Obsidian.

I am pretty sure that there's no way I will abandon it during the weekend, even if there are times when I actually want to play it in shorter sessions so that the experience can last for a longer period.

The great thing about the title is not that it is so close in many ways to the experiences that occupied and defined my childhood, but that the development team has managed to capture not only their mechanics but their spirit.

The world itself is wonderful, the kind that makes me want to find more books in the world to read, even if that means that there's actually less time to play.

Pillars of Eternity knows how to make the player feel at the center of the action while showing them a universe that feels like it could support tens of similar stories.

From time to time, I will take a break from the game, and when I do, I have plans to meet up with friends and play some real-world games, at the moment our favorite being Masquerade, a quick and fun experience that can also end friendships.
