Playing Mass Effect 3, Trials, Hearts of Iron III and Tribes

Andrei Dumitrescu: I seem to only be able to drop one video game obsession by replacing it with another one, so I left my career with Liverpool in Football Manager 2012 (reaching 2020 without managing to get the Champions League trophy but with plenty of domestic success) in order to get back to the Hearts of Iron III Collection, which includes the base game and its two expansions.

I have set up two games, one as Germany and one as the United Kingdom, set on using very ahistorical strategies with both of them: The Nazis will go East as soon as possible in order to secure the West of Russia, while the United Kingdom will have to abandon its tendency to defend the British Isles and be aggressive in stopping Germany in France and the Low Countries.

I also plan to spend more time with Tribes: Ascend, maybe unlocking a few new weapons and getting better at taking out enemies with my Juggernaut.

Andrei Dobra: I’ll once again jump back into Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer mode as the current challenge weekend, Operation Exorcist, requires that I not only kill lots of Cerberus Phantoms but also survive a match on Gold difficulty, which can always prove to be quite tricky if you or your team mates don’t know what you’re doing.

When I won’t be playing online in Mass Effect 3, I’ll no doubt return to Trials Evolution, as after unlocking the Platinum rating for all of the game’s different tracks, I’m now keen on actually earning it by completing the tracks as fast as I can.

What’s more, I also have quite a lot of “extreme” circuits that prove to be quite difficult to complete, so I look forward to restarting over and over again until I finish them as fast as possible.
