David Braben, the leader of the Frontier team working on Elite: Dangerous, believes that the development process for the space sim will be difficult going forward, but he is confident that his colleagues can deliver a deep experience to the fans.

The game maker tells Gamasutra that, “People's expectations are pretty high, but people have seen what we have shown already, so I am confident they will enjoy what we make, and of course many will have input in this process too.”

He also suggested that Elite: Dangerous would get massive support after it is launched, with the developers talking to the community in order to find out what aspects of the game could be improved.

Elite: Dangerous will include 100 billion star systems, which the player will be free to explore when the game launches in 2014.
