The development team at ZeniMax Online and publisher Bethesda are announcing that they are taking down the North American megaserver for The Elder Scrolls Online in order to deploy Update 2, a major patch for the MMO.

The companies announce on Twitter that the maintenance period will last a few hours and once it is complete, the two will probably take down the European one in order to perform the same operations.

ZeniMax Online has not offered an official changelog for Update 2 for The Elder Scrolls Online so far, but one will probably be delivered soon.

It’s unclear at the moment whether the MMO is also getting access to the new location, the Crypt of Hearts, which is set to include a range of new veteran quests for gamers to explore and enjoy.

The development team has said that it plans to deliver a constant stream of new content for the title in order to keep high-level players interested in the long term.

The Elder Scrolls Online is a subscription-based MMO that is currently offered on the PC and will be launched towards the end of the year on the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony.
