CCP will match players' donations to the Icelandic Red Cross

Video game developer CCP announces that all players of its MMO EVE Online are now able to donate their own PLEX in order to support those Philippines inhabitants that are currently affected by the devastation of Typhoon Haiyan.

Until December 7 of this year, gamers who are feeling generous can give up their Pilot’s License Extension and help those less fortunate and the developers say that they will at also add 15 dollars (11 Euro) for each donation in order to support the Icelandic Red Cross.

EVE Online players who take part in the charity drive will get access to two virtual T-shirts that they can use in the MMO.

The PLEX for Good program that the company is running has so far managed to raise more than 108,000 dollars (78,000 Euro) in donations from gamers for other worthy causes.

The space-based title, renowned for its complex social mechanics, has just received a new expansion called Rubicon.
