The series wasn't shelved by Electronic Arts after the third game

Electronic Arts still has faith in the Dead Space franchise even if the third installment didn't impress that many fans around the world.

The Dead Space series started out as a gamble for EA, offering a single-player-only survival horror experience that garnered great reviews but didn't do so well in terms of sales.

Its sequels followed the same path, and the third installment in particular was promoted rather heavily but still failed to sell that well.

Even so, EA still has faith in the series, as the head of its Labels section, Frank Gibeau, told CVG that, while he's not ready to announce anything, the series isn't "out of rotation."

"Dead Space is something that we're very proud of," he added. "We are not making any public announcements on what we're doing with the next Dead space, but we definitely have a great set of IPs to pull out of the vault."

Dead Space 1 and Dead Space 3 are a part of EA's special Humble Origin Bundle, which is still underway for a few more hours.
