Ian Lloyd, the art director working on the new UFC title at EA Sports, says that his team has not just re-created the image of Bruce Lee for the upcoming game, but has captured the essence of the fighter with its new simulation system.

The developer says that his team worked hard to balance the need to capture the iconic look of the real-world person with the desire to make sure that he had enough power and flexibility to be a solid opponent in the octagon.

In an official interview on the EA Sports UFC site, Lloyd explains that, “This does not just look like Bruce Lee. It is Bruce Lee. The way he carries himself, his fighting stance, his rippling physique, devastating speed, signature strikes and accompanying yells, whoops and shrieks.”

Gamers will be able to unlock Bruce Lee in the game by completing the entire single-player content or they can simply choose to pre-order the title in order to have him unlocked as soon as they first play.

The EA Sports UFC simulation will be launched on the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony and uses the new Ignite engine.

Reports say that the game will be available in stores on June 17.
