Electronic Arts has just confirmed that it's extended the license agreement with the International Federation of Association Football for the rights to FIFA for another 10 years, meaning it can continue making games until the end of 2022.

EA's FIFA series is one of the most successful yearly franchises in the world, with the most recent title, FIFA 13, managing to sell over 14.5 million units since its release in September 2012.

The franchise has benefitted from having exclusive rights to the FIFA name and the perks that come along with it.

Now, that exclusivity is set to continue, as EA has confirmed that it's extended the deal it has with the International Federation of Association Football for the FIFA brand.

As a result, the company's sports division can continue making games in the FIFA series for another 10 years, until 2022, according to Gamasutra.

The terms of the deal weren't disclosed but you can imagine that EA paid a lot of money to continue its hugely successful series.
