Those interested in battery saving can't turn off the big light

Sony has confirmed that the PlayStation 4's controller, the DualShock 4, has a light bar that can't be turned off by users, meaning it will constantly stay on in different colors.

The DualShock 4 was presented to the world in February and it featured quite a few changes as opposed to the regular DualShock 3 controller for the PS3.

Instead of an LED light that signals the number of the device, the DualShock 4 will have a light bar that can change colors in order to indicate such a thing.

What's more, the light bar can also be picked up by the PS4 camera, if available, and used for certain motion controls.

According to Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida, the light bar can't be turned off, as he told a Twitter follower that users can't interact with the controller.

It's unclear just how much of an impact the light bar will have on the DualShock 4's battery life, which is still unclear at the moment.
