The PS4 controller isn't that good for marathon playing sessions

The DualShock 4 controller for the PlayStation 4 has a small battery that only grants it an autonomy of around 7 to 8 hours, according to a new report online.

The PS4 is set to launch in North America this week on Friday, November 15, and alongside it a brand new controller will make its debut, in the form of the DualShock 4.

The new device, much like its predecessor, has an internal battery that's charged by plugging it into a USB port via a cable that's bundled with it.

Unfortunately, while the battery in the DualShock managed to last around 30 hours, the DualShock 4 is only capable of around 7 to 8 hours' worth of play time, according to a report from Polygon, which has had extensive time with the next-gen console and its controller.

As of yet, Sony hasn't commented on these claims, nor has it given an estimated autonomy for the DualShock 4.
