Bethesda has just confirmed that the new Dragonborn DLC for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will appear on the PC and PlayStation 3 platforms in early 2013.

Skyrim captured the hearts and minds of millions of gamers from all over the world last year and, since then, developer Bethesda has released lots of patches across the three platforms – PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 – as well as DLC, first on the Xbox 360 and then on the PC.

Now, ahead of the release of the Dragonborn DLC for Skyrim, which is out tomorrow on the Xbox 360, Bethesda has confirmed, via its blog, that it will be launched for the PC and the PS3 in early 2013.

While the PC release was no surprise, given the launch pattern for previous expansions like Dawnguard or Hearthfire, it's interesting to hear a release for the PS3 platform, as Bethesda met lots of issues on the Sony console, which have prevented Dawnguard or Hearthfire from appearing for Skyrim's PS3 version.

No other details are known so you can expect to hear more as we enter the new year.
