Video game developer BioWare and publisher Electronic Arts are announcing that Dragon Age: Origins is at the moment free for all those interested on the Origin digital distribution service, which means that gamers who have not yet engaged with the series will be able to take a look at the title which started the franchise.

The offer is available until October 14 and the official announcement states, "You don’t need to log into Dragon Age: Origins to enjoy the single-player quest; if you see any messages asking you to when you start the game, just skip them, and you’ll be good to go!"

Gamers who add Origins to their library will be then able to access it at any time.

The offer is clearly designed to introduce gamers to the experience in advance of the launch of Dragon Age: Inquisition, which is set to be offered on the PC, the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 and last-gen consoles on November 18 in North America and on November 21 in Europe.

The new title will include many of the systems introduced in Origins and playing that installment in the franchise will offer players a good look at the world that BioWare has created.

It will be interesting to see whether Origin will also offer Dragon Age 2 for free at any point in the coming month.
