The upcoming Dragon Age III will expand on some of the themes that BioWare has used in the second game in the series, although the team will also introduce new ideas that will appeal to longtime fans of the franchise.

David Gaider, the writer in charge with the story, tells Rock, Paper, Shotgun in an interview that "Those are things we need to deal with that we left up in the air after the end of DAII. We can’t just move on to something completely new."

He adds, "But we probably will move on to new overall themes. We will try different narrative elements."

Rumors about Dragon Age III suggest that players will be able to meet both Hawke and the Warden Commander from Origins as they travel through Orlais and try to put an end to the conflict between the mages and the Templars.

Dragon Age III is expected to arrive before the end of the year and will use the Frostbite 3 engine.
